This past Thursday, May 29th, was the I Know Write Manila Blogging Workshop, and I can easily say that it was one of the best events I’ve been to. You get to meet some of your favorite bloggers, make friends, and learn more about blogging from the best of the best. The workshop was held at Kuppa Roastery & Café in Bonifacio Global City, and let me just say that the IKW team did a great job in choosing the venue, as the food was delicious (just saying)!
I actually learned a lot about blogging and writing (apart from the fact that I was late and missed the first part of Marla Miniano‘s talk), and I was really happy that I did. Marla gave us some tips on inspiration, what we should keep in mind while blogging, and also said that we are all only supposed to be writing for ourselves, and not to impress anybody, which was completely correct. Blogging is a form of self-expression, and self-expression is a way for us to be able to find ourselves and what we want to do. Marla was really helpful and also really nice!
Reese Lansangan was the next speaker, and talked about visual blogging, and talked about her travels, and showed us the pictures she took whilst traveling. She was also really funny!
Then came the last speaker, Nina Pineda, and all of a sudden, everybody took their cameras and phones out of their pockets and bags, and started taking pictures, and let me just tell you; It looked like we were at a Press Conference. Not joking, it really did, haha! Nina’s got fans huh B)
Nina talked about bullying and receiving hate, networking, success, and even got sidetracked and talked about One Direction (who wouldn’t, let’s be real). She even shared the reoccurring dream she’s been having for so long with us, and everything got intimate and personal. Nina is an amazing girl; She gave us a few tips on how to handle the hate, and just told everyone to ignore it if ever we did receive any, which we will because everybody does. No matter what anyone says, it doesn’t matter, because those who love you know what you really are and what you’re like as a person. So, just don’t mind the backlash. It’s irrelevant.
I also made a new friend, Bea, and she’s actually a Candy Mag correspondent and fashion blogger! She was really nice and super sweet.
You may be thinking, why is “Stay, Stay, Stay” the title of this post? Well you see, I had intended to stay much longer after the workshop, but I had to go to another event right after. And also because I’m obsessed with Robbers by The 1975. (I really am turning into a fan. I apologize in advance.)
After the workshop, my sister Saab and I went on our way to the Kiehl’s Stories party at the Zuellig Building, wherein they launched their newest brand ambassadors!
There was a mural by the side inspired by New York and everything Kiehl’s. It was open for everybody to paint on, which was awesome! I didn’t though, because I was afraid that I’d mess everything up.
Some of our family friends were there too, and I wish I could have taken more pictures, but my phone died. Boo me. Haha! Thank you to my sister Saab for taking me, and congratulations on becoming one of the newest Kiehl’s ambassadors! Love you!
